Bridge over the Mureş River, Bypass Deva-Orăştie

At that time the longest motorway bridge in Romania, the tight construction schedule imposed a solution with quick erection times. The VTR^® composite bridge solution was chosen, in which the superstructure behaves as a girder system and is composed of two steel box girders, prefabricated concrete cross beams, on which prefabricated concrete slabs can be placed. It is a semi-integral bridge, with three of the center axes fixed to the superstructure. The remaining superstructure is a continuous girder with expansion joints only at the abutments.
